History

Benelux Scientific bvba was founded early 2001 by Danny Pattyn and Jan De Munck, two experienced chemical engineers and experts in the field of scientific instrumentation and lab equipment.

Danny has more than 15 years of experience in the field of scientific instrumentation. As European Director for a major instruments company, he expanded their business from a small network of distributors to a business with several direct offices and he managed them to market leadership in several countries. Besides market leadership, he and his team also got the highest customer satisfaction ratings in European surveys.

Jan has worked for over ten years at one of the largest distributors of scientific instruments in Belgium. Jan has represented many companies and achieved the highest level of satisfaction from a large customer base. He has been responsible for a complete materials characterization line, including thermal analysis, rheology, particle analysis and several other analytical techniques.

Piet Luksemburg joined Benelux Scientific late 2001 which was also the starting point for a legal entity in The Netherlands. After 15 years of most valuable experience as chemist in the laboratories of Shell and Quest, Piet moved towards the sales side of scientific instruments and lab equipment. He spent 12 years with Mettler-Toledo as product specialist for the analytical instruments division and 6 years as sales manager at Wilten-Fysika where he was responsible for rheology, thermal analysis, surface chemistry, contact angle and many other products lines. Piet knows almost every customer in Holland and due to his tremendous applications know-how and his strong interest in scientific instruments, many customers know him as their problem solver.

Early 2003, Dr. Randy Israel joined Benelux Scientific bv in The Netherlands. With 5 years of experience as product specialist particle size techniques for Ankersmid, Randy significantly strengthens our team.
